Beautiful Custom Decks in Keowee Key, SC

• Durability:
  • Weather Resistance: Composite decking is more resistant to weather extremes like humidity, intense sunlight, and heavy rain. It won't warp, crack, or splinter like wood.
  • Insect Resistance: Unlike wood, composite materials are not susceptible to termites and other wood-boring insects.
• Low Maintenance:
  • No Need for Staining or Sealing: Composite decks don't require regular staining, sealing, or painting like wooden decks. A simple cleaning with soap and water usually suffices.
  • Mold and Mildew Resistance: Composite materials are less likely to develop mold and mildew, a significant issue in humid climates.
• Longevity:
  • Longer Lifespan: Composite decking generally lasts longer than wood decking, often coming with warranties of 25 years or more.
• Aesthetics:
  • Consistent Appearance: Composite decking maintains its color and appearance longer than wood, which can fade and weather over time.
  • Variety of Styles: Composite decking comes in a wide range of colors and finishes, often mimicking the look of natural wood.
• Environmental Considerations:
  • Recycled Materials: Many composite decks are made from recycled plastics and wood fibers, making them a more environmentally friendly choice compared to new lumber.
• Safety:
  • Slip Resistance: Composite materials can be designed to be more slip-resistant than wood, beneficial in South Carolina's wet conditions.
• No Splinters: Composite decking doesn't splinter, making it safer for bare feet and pets.

Trex decking is a composite material made from up to 95% recycled materials, including reclaimed sawdust and recycled plastic film. This plastic comes from common household items like dry cleaner bags, newspaper bags, grocery bags, and plastic overwrap on packaging. The plastic improves the wood's resistance to water and insect damage. Trex also uses eco-friendly manufacturing processes.

Yes! We use hidden fasteners with our composite decking to provide a clean, seamless look.

1. Clear the deck's surface and sweep away any large debris.
2. Spray down with a hose to remove smaller debris and dirt.
3. Gently scrub the surface with a soft-bristle brush and warm, soapy water.
4. Rinse thoroughly using a hose.

Trex decking offers a 50-year warranty on their Transcend line, a 25-year warranty on Enhance Basics and Naturals, but they expect it to last a lifetime.

As a licensed Trex retailer, we consider Trex to be the best composite decking to install.

We recommend using picture frame boards on deck and stair treads.
